6 Pence Rum - A Theatre for the Senses

This was a one week brief set by Signet Branding, to design a container and packaging for a bottle of rum. The name '6 Pence Rum' was provided, along with some history of the brand and alcohol.

I developed an opening mechanism which incorporates a metal coin, a key part of the brand's name and history, into the opening process - when the lid is opened, the coin is struck by a small mallet, producing a ringing sound that will become the distinctive sound of the brand.

I designed the packaging from scratch using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, then modelled the bottle and packaging in Blender, incorporating the text of the historic alcohol legislation into the bottle itself as a debossed texture. The render was post-processed in Lightroom and the marketing text added in Photoshop.

My submission won 3rd place in the week long design competition, judged by Signet Branding themselves.
